Who we are looking for

We are in search of a dedicated, reliable and passionate Sales Representative to join the Goodwood team. A commitment to environmental sustainability is a must, so if our mission resonates with you and you’re ready to contribute, we’d love to hear from you!

The role will be based in Mount Maunganui with travel expected throughout the Central North Island. As a vital member of our Sales team, you’ll collaborate closely with various departments within Goodwood, including administration, operations, sales and marketing, reporting directly to the Office Manager.

Your enthusiasm for sales is crucial, and we’re looking for someone who can think creatively, work to set targets and keep up with admin requirements. Support will be provided to help you achieve success, as we believe your success is intertwined with the growth of our business and our shared mission.

Along with that, we are also looking for the following:

  • Ideally, experience in agricultural, horticultural, or landscaping sales
  • Strong time management and planning skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively network with farmers and corporate organisations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong collaborative attributes in order to work effectively with the Goodwood team across various departments including administration, marketing and manufacturing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Sales Expansion: Drive the growth of sales for our Goodwood product lines through both phone-based and in-person cold calling to both existing and potential customers. Develop innovative sales strategies to achieve growth objectives.
  • Sales Enquiry Management: Efficiently and effectively manage daily sales enquiries. Maintain a current record of all sales enquiries using our CRM system.
  • Reporting and Meeting Participation: Ensure weekly reporting is timely and accurate. Participate in sales meetings as necessary.
  • Client Interaction and Order Processing: Professionally handle client interactions, promptly addressing any issues. Process orders accurately and maintain seamless communication with the administrative team.
  • Collaboration and Feedback: Collaborate with sales support and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery and high-quality products. Continuously provide feedback from customers to both head office and the production team to enhance product quality.
  • Coordination and Promotion: Coordinate with the Office and Marketing Manager, as well as fellow sales representatives, to effectively promote Goodwood products. Assist in conducting market research to identify current and future product demands.
  • Market Insight and Analysis: Provide market insights to inform pricing strategies effectively. Stay updated on market trends and monitor competitor activities to make informed business decisions.

We are looking for a hard-working yard hand who is keen to learn new skills, has a can-do attitude and great organisational skills to be an integral part of our team.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Be involved in all aspects of our busy manufacturing yard from pallet sorting and rebuilding, forklift driving, product deliveries and machinery maintenance
  • General Yard Maintenance in accordance with Goodwood’s systems and processes.
  • Adherence to Site Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

The Successful Applicant

  • Is a self-starter
  • An effective team player
  • Shows initiative and is willing to learn and make a difference

Activities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Unload Woodwaste that comes into the yard
  • Sort pallets into re-sellable and manufacturable wood piles
  • Repair any pallets that could then be resold
  • Remove any rubbish/debris/stones or other not acceptable material from product
  • Accompany the wood waste driver on collections when required
  • Deliveries of Goodwood products in the delivery truck (car licence required)
  • Greasing and pre-starts on machinery as required
  • Support the team to ensure all fire safety measures are adhered to and maintained across the yard
  • Support the team to maintain the yard in a tidy condition
  • Hold team members to account to achieve our standard of excellence

Additional Information

  • There will be opportunities for the right person to gain more skills/training within the business
  • Immediate start is accepted, but we are happy to wait for the right person to work out notice at your current employment
  • We run a stringent H&S System which includes regular drug and alcohol testing. Successful applicant must be prepared to participate in all aspects of H&S
  • This is a Full-time position. Standard work hours Mon – Fri (7am to 5pm) however there may at times be a requirement for weekend work

We are looking for a reliable Class 5 Bulk Truck Driver who has a can-do attitude and great organisational skills to be part of our team.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Delivery of all Goodwood Products safely and in a timely manner to Goodwood customers.
  • Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of Goodwood trucks as required.
  • Responsible for driving up to daily legal hours as per log book
  • Adherence to Site Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

The Successful Applicant

  • Communicate with Dispatch Coordinator / Goodwood Admin staff for daily deliveries
  • Pro-actively assist as required with the planning of daily operations of the yard to support the production of quality value added products
  • Delivery of loads in a professional manner whilst maintaining the company’s high standard
  • Complete daily pre-start on truck
  • Call Goodwood customers prior to delivery
  • Report any truck issues / maintenance to dispatch coordinator / ops manager
  • Ensure all RUC’s, COF, WOFs etc are valid

We are looking for a hard-working Machinery Operator with a can-do attitude and great organisational and machinery operating skills.

Based in our Mt Maunganui manufacturing yard, you will report directly to the Operations Manager. The job will consist of working within a team operating heavy machinery including but not limited to: horizontal wood grinders, loaders, excavators, and forklift, to meet production targets

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Manufacturing of Premium Wood Waste Products in accordance with Goodwood’s systems and processes
  • Machinery Maintenance and Safe Operation in accordance with Goodwood’s systems and procedures
  • Adherence to Site Health and Safety Policies and Procedures

The Successful Applicant

  • A self-starter
  • An effective team player
  • Able to show initiative and be willing to make a difference
  • Experienced with machinery and ideally have welding skills
  • Reliable, Motivated and Enthusiastic

Activities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Operating a Horizontal Wood Grinder
  • Operating both a Loader and Excavator
  • Deliveries on our small and large truck
  • Assisting with loading /unloading inbound and outbound product.
  • Communicating with the Operations Manager in relation to production and yard/machinery requirements.
  • Current Full Class 2 HT Licence
  • Work as part of a team and support all team members where possible
